The Altai & Jonson comic seems to be inspired by the classic American buddy cop films and TV series featuring a pair of policemen/detectives dedicated to incredible feats in every episode. As such, we are faced with two extravagant characters who work as private investigators and who, as it happens, live in San Francisco. Apart from that, the comic is written by Tiziano Sclavi, who knows quite a bit about cinema and as such is capable of making reverent and irreverent tributes to great films - which perhaps are not always widely-known - over the course of several issues.
The tried-and-tested pairing of Tiziano Sclavi and Giorgio Cavazzano certainly can’t stop at creating serious policemen, and clearly irony and the grotesque are the protagonists of the series. The comic is aimed at a young audience, so the duo of authors concentrates on the comic side of the stories.
