Tight jeans, a medal at his neck, mirror sunglasses, his brightly-decorated Fiat Dino Spider, and he’s off! Carlo Verdone’s debut film, Un Sacco Bello (Fun Is Beautiful), begins with the images of Enzo, a brash, incorrigible lout from Rome, who is getting ready to depart. His intention is to spend the hottest days of mid-August in Cracow along with his hesitant friend Sergio.

 “Abbi fede. Abbi fede, regolare!” (Fingers crossed, fingers crossed, no sweat!), but Enzo’s journey towards Poland will not be bereft of setbacks and surprises.
A deserted, sun-drenched Rome provides the backdrop for the adventures of the three memorable personalities in Un Sacco Bello, Enzo, Leo and Ruggero, interwoven in Carlo Verdone’s unforgettable film. And so, after Amitrano, Furio and Mimmo, once again we have gone back to 1980 for a tribute to Italian cinema, featuring a great author and director of the calibre of Carlo Verdone.

Reproducing Enzo’s Dino Spider was not just a model-making challenge, but also a moment of authentic enjoyment, seeing the rebirth of a legendary vehicle that represented a landmark in the history of Italian comedy films. We decided to depict Enzo in one of his finest moments: at the emergency department, waiting for his unlucky friend Sergio while he annoys everyone with the loud music blaring from inside the car. In this piece, every detail has been recreated with impeccable precision: from the fake Ferrari logo to the legendary stickers denoting his convertible’s fantastic “optional features”.
